Integrations
Integrations are the bridge between Platica and the rest of your operation. From here you connect the platforms where your customers reach out, the external tools your agent can consult and modify in real time, and the technical building blocks for crafting custom flows.
Every integration is configured once and becomes available to any agent in your workspace.
The three Integration blocks
Platica organizes integrations into three categories based on the role they play. Understanding the difference helps you know where to look when you need to connect something new.
| Block | What it solves | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | Platforms where your customers reach out to you | WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Web Chat, Telegram, SMS, Email, Voice Calls |
| Apps | Platica's native integrations your agent uses during a conversation | Documents, Code Interpreter, OpenTable, Platica, Shopify |
| Functions | Technical building blocks for custom integrations | MCPs (Shopify, Notion, GitHub…), REST APIs, Webhooks, Cron jobs |
The catalog cards you see on the main Integrations page (Shopify, Notion, GitHub, HubSpot…) connect through MCP and belong to the Functions → MCPs block, not to Apps.
How to access it
- Go to the left-hand navigation bar.
- Click on the Integrations icon (the small squares).
- You'll see the three blocks highlighted at the top and, below them, the full catalog grouped by category.
Available channels
These are the messaging platforms you can connect so your customers can reach out. A single agent can handle multiple channels at once while keeping the same personality and knowledge.
| Channel | Description | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Connect your WhatsApp Business number to serve customers on the world's most-used messaging app. | ✅ Available | |
| Reply to direct messages from your Instagram Business account. | ✅ Available | |
| Messenger | Integrate Facebook Messenger through your Facebook page. | ✅ Available |
| Connect your domain and create mailboxes (sales@, support@…) to receive and reply to emails. | ✅ Available | |
| Web Chat | Add a live chat widget to your website. | 🔧 Coming soon |
| Telegram | Connect your Telegram bot to automate conversations. | 🔧 Coming soon |
| SMS | Send and receive traditional text messages. | 🔧 Coming soon |
| Voice Calls | Handle phone calls with AI assistants. | 🔧 Coming soon |
Apps and Functions
Beyond channels, you can expand what your agent is able to do:
Apps — Platica's native integrations (Documents, Code Interpreter, OpenTable, Platica, Shopify). You connect an account, choose which tools to expose, and your agent uses them right away.
Functions — The technical building blocks: MCP servers (Shopify, Notion, GitHub, Zapier, and more), REST API calls, outbound webhooks, and scheduled tasks to cover any custom use case.
Recommendation: If you're just setting up your workspace, start with Channels so your agent can begin receiving messages. Once it's running, connect an App (for example, your CRM) to enrich responses with real data from your business. Functions are for more advanced cases and are rarely the first step.
