Create Contact
Even though Platica automatically registers every person who contacts you through any channel, you can also add contacts manually. This is useful when you have customer data coming from events, phone calls, business cards, or other external sources.
How to Create a New Contact
Click the green "New contact" button in the top right corner of the Contacts section.
Fill out the form with the customer's information.
Click "Save contact" to register them in your database.
Form Fields
Contact Information
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name | ✅ | Name you'll use to identify the contact on the platform |
| Phone | ✅ | Number with country code (e.g., 52 for Mexico, 1 for USA) |
| Owner | — | Team member assigned to serve this customer |
| Tags | — | Tags to classify the contact from the moment it's created |
Personal Information
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| First name | Contact's first name |
| Last name | Contact's last name |
| Date of birth | In dd/mm/yyyy format |
| Gender | Contact's gender |
Phone format: The number must include the country code with no spaces or dashes. For example: 5212345678901 for Mexico or 11234567890 for the United States. If the format is wrong, you won't be able to send messages to the contact.
What happens after creating a contact?
Once saved, the new contact:
- Appears immediately in your contacts list
- Is ready to receive messages — You can send them WhatsApp templates or start conversations from their profile
- Inherits the custom fields configured in your workspace, available for your team or the AI to fill in
If you need to add many contacts at once, it's more efficient to use the Import Contacts feature, which lets you upload CSV, XLSX, or JSON files with hundreds or thousands of records in one go.
