Notifications
The Notifications section lets you decide exactly how you want Platica to alert you when something important happens. You can enable or disable each type of alert independently across the three available channels: email, WhatsApp, and browser push.
How channels work
Each channel has a main toggle that turns every notification on that channel on or off at once. Below the main toggle, you can fine-tune which event types you want to receive on that channel.
If a channel's main toggle is off, the individual options are automatically disabled and won't generate alerts regardless of their setting.
Email Notifications
Turn on "Enable email notifications" to start receiving alerts at your registered email address.
| Notification type | When it's sent |
|---|---|
| Assistance requests | When an AI agent detects that the conversation needs a person from the team to step in |
| Mentions | When someone tags you directly in a conversation using @yourname |
| Assigned conversations | When a teammate or an agent assigns you a new conversation |
| Weekly digest | An automatic email each week with a summary of your workspace's activity |
| Marketing and promos | News, product updates, usage tips, and special offers from Platica |
If you want to stay on top of operational stuff without flooding your inbox, turn off Weekly digest and Marketing and promos and leave only the assistance, mentions, and assignment notifications on.
WhatsApp Notifications
Turn on "Enable WhatsApp notifications" to receive important alerts directly on your WhatsApp number. This is useful when you're away from the platform and need to find out about urgent events in real time.
| Notification type | When it's sent |
|---|---|
| Assistance requests | When an AI agent requests that a person from the team take over the conversation |
| Mentions | When someone mentions you in a conversation inside Platica |
| Assigned conversations | When you're assigned a new conversation that needs your attention |
For WhatsApp notifications to work, your account's phone number must be registered and active. You can verify or update it in the Account section.
Push Notifications
Push notifications appear as native browser alerts on your computer, even if Platica is not the active tab. They're the most immediate way to find out about something without needing to check your email or WhatsApp.
Turn on "Enable push notifications" to enable them. The first time, your browser will ask permission to show notifications — make sure to click "Allow".
| Notification type | When it's sent |
|---|---|
| Assistance requests | When an AI agent requests human intervention |
| Mentions | When someone mentions you in a conversation |
| Assigned conversations | When you're assigned a new conversation |
Recommended combo: Turn push notifications on for day-to-day operational alerts (assistance requests and assignments) and use email only for the weekly digest. That way you have immediacy while you're working and a summary when you're not.
