Messenger
Connect your Facebook page to Platica so your AI agents automatically handle messages coming through Facebook Messenger. A single account can connect multiple pages and manage all their conversations from the same inbox.
The integration uses the official Messenger API from Meta, ensuring a stable connection that complies with the platform's terms of service.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
- An active Facebook page associated with your business.
- Admin permissions on that Facebook page.
- Messenger messages enabled on the page.
If you just created a new Facebook page, note that Meta applies some sending restrictions during the first 24 hours. If you need admin permissions and don't have them, you'll need to request them from the current page administrator.
Connect Messenger
1. Open the Messenger page
From Integrations → Channels, click the Messenger card. You'll see the management screen for connected pages.
Click "+ Connect Messenger page" to start the process.
2. Information screen
A screen will appear with details about Messenger for Business and the four requirements you must meet before continuing.
Make sure you meet all requirements and click "Get started".
3. Step 1 — Facebook Page
The system will show you a two-step flow. In the first step you need to confirm that you have a Facebook page with admin permissions.
Check the box "I have a Facebook page with admin permissions" and click "Next: Enable Messenger".
Don't have a page? Click "Create a new page" on the same screen. Keep in mind that new pages have sending restrictions during the first 24 hours.
4. Step 2 — Enable Messenger
In the second step the system explains what will happen during the authorization with Facebook.
What will happen next:
- You'll be redirected to Facebook to authorize the connection with your page.
- You'll need to select the page you want to connect during the authorization process.
- You'll need to accept all requested permissions for the integration to work correctly.
Check the box "I want to enable Messenger messages on my page" and click "Next: Connect with Facebook".
You must accept all the permissions Meta requests. If you decline any of them, Messenger may connect without the ability to receive or send certain types of messages.
5. Authorization with Facebook
An official Meta authorization window will open. Follow the on-screen instructions:
Sign in with your personal Facebook account (the one with admin permissions on the page).
Select the Facebook page you want to connect to Platica.
Accept all permissions Meta requests to enable sending and receiving Messenger messages.
The window will close automatically. Your page will appear listed on Platica's management screen.
Make sure you don't have any pop-up blockers active in your browser, as they can prevent the Meta window from opening. If you need help during the process, click "Contact Support" on the same screen.
Multiple pages
Platica lets you connect more than one Facebook page to your workspace. Each page appears as an independent account in the list and can be assigned to different agents depending on your operation.
To add an additional page, go back to Integrations → Channels → Messenger and click "+ Connect Messenger page" again.
