New Chat

To start a conversation with an AI agent, you first need to choose which one you want to talk to. Platica shows you every agent available and lets you mark favorites so you can quickly access the ones you use the most.

Start a Chat

  1. Click "+ New Chat" in the left sidebar or the green "+ New chat" button in the top right corner.

  2. You'll see the "Which agent do you want to talk to?" screen with cards for every agent available.

  3. Click the agent you want. A checkmark ✓ will appear and the agent's name will show up in the text field as @AgentName.

  4. Type your message and hit send to start the conversation.

Agent Cards

Each agent is shown as a card with the following elements:

ElementDescription
AvatarImage of the AI agent
NameAgent's name
☆ StarMarks or unmarks the agent as a favorite
↗ ArrowSelects the agent directly to start the conversation

Favorite Agents

Mark agents as favorites by clicking the star ☆ on their card. The star will turn gold ⭐ to indicate it's a favorite.

What are favorites for?

Once you're inside an active conversation, you can switch agents from the @AgentName ∨ dropdown in the text field. In this selector, agents are organized into two groups:

  • FAVORITES — The agents you marked with ⭐ show up first
  • OTHER AGENTS — The rest of your available agents

This is ideal if you have many agents but only use a few of them frequently.

Search Agents

If you have many agents configured, use the "Search agents" field at the top of the selector to quickly find the one you need by name.

The "View 30 more agents ∨" link expands the full list if you don't see the agent you're looking for among the initial cards.

Create a New Agent

If you need an agent that doesn't exist yet, you can create it directly from this screen by clicking the "New agent" card with the green icon. This will take you to the AI Agent Builder, where you can configure your new agent from scratch.

Edit an Agent from Chats

During an active conversation, the settings icon to the right of the text field takes you directly to the AI Agent Builder for the agent you're talking to. From there you can modify its instructions, knowledge, and configuration, and test it in the built-in simulator.

This flow lets you iterate quickly:

  1. Chat with the agent in Chats
  2. Identify something that needs adjusting
  3. Edit by clicking the settings icon
  4. Test the changes directly in the editor or go back to Chats
